Vargus is endorsed by the extremist Conservative Party that wants to ban abortion and make cuts to Medicaid and school funding.
Richard Vargus oversaw a Pentagon program that tore combat veterans with PTSD away from the dogs they served with in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Instead of returning the dogs to service members, as required by federal law, Vargus “absconded with the dogs,” according to one veteran, and let a private military contractor take them instead.
